The ghostly spectre
Scripted a letter
Chilling bold
In fingers icy cold.
And the wintry wind howled
While the fog gently cowled
Moon in shadows jailed
The trees ominous wailed
Crunch-crunch, slosh- slosh
The mackintosh and the galosh
Skippity-skip, slob-slop
On the rump – plop
The spade and the shovel
Seek a foothold on the gravel
The Winter winds a blowing
The hearth a softly glowing…
